My lovely husband, Ben, and I celebrated our one year anniversary this past weekend! It's hard to believe its already been a year since our big celebration up in Bay Harbor, Michigan!

We celebrated our one year anniversary taking a trip up to Bay Harbor, Petoskey, Mackinaw Island, Traverse City and wrapped it up with a day trip to Saugatuck, Michigan! 
If you've never been to Northern Michigan in the summer, you are truly missing out! After all, Kid Rock did write a song about 'Summers in Northern Michigan'. . .
The water is such a perfect shade of bright blue, the skies are generally aqua and cloudless in August and the temperatures, well, they are right around 80 with very little humidity! There are beautiful lighthouses everywhere, the sun is perfect for tanning, yet not to hot to hike, shop or listen to live music outside - while sipping a glass of Michigan Riesling, of course!
Spending the summers in Northern Michigan is probably the closest thing to heaven, in my book!
We had a lovely visit complete with delicious dinners at lakeside restaurants early in the morning and at sunset, with biking around scenic Mackinaw Island, wine tasting at eight different wineries in the Traverse City area, and finally having our first "family" photos taken in one of our favorite beach towns, Saugatuck, Michigan! I'll share more details of the great finds I stumbled upon along the way in the next few posts. . . Enjoy!
