Daily Inspiraton: Armani Favorites!

A couple weeks back a girlfriend of mine, Miss Sarah, hosted a Master Class at the Giorgio Armani makeup counter in Saks! She actually won it a week earlier when a few of us were at a Fashion Show! She was so sweet that she invited both my sweet sissy and I and it was loads of fun!

Now, I am far from a 'Master' in anything - but when it comes to makeup, I consider myself to be basically at the bottom of the totem pole, when it comes to makeup knowledge. I'm pretty much a simple girl - so I actually learned a ton from this little 2 hour session!

During this class I picked up a few great things that I had to share with you all. . . First the perfect lip gloss - for everyday, work, or spicing it up a bit at night - Check this little gloss out - Armani Lip Shimmer #21 - its PERFECT!

Next check out my new secret weapon - Armani Master Corrector - its an under-eye brightener and it seriously works miracles! For the last two weeks I've had 4 people comment on how well rested I look and ask me if I'm wearing new makeup and then tell me how nice my eyes look! Geesh! If I could have known I'd be showered with compliments - I probably would have bought this a long time ago! HA!

Favorite Recipes: Summer Tortellini Mint Salad

A few months back I visited with some girlfriends in Birmingham and stumbled upon one of the most delightful lunch dishes. So, I tried to remember what was in their delicious dish and I tried to tweak and recreate at home. . .I served this tonight to my adorable husband and he loved every bit of it!

Tortellini Mint Salad

.

Ingredients:
-Package of Cheese Tortellini
-Fresh Mint Leaves
-Package of Frozen Peas
-Pine Nuts (optional)
-1/2 Stick of Butter
-1/4 cup of Skim Milk
-1 Tablespoon of Pesto
-Pinch of Garlic
-Fresh Yellow or Orange Bell Pepper
-Grated Romano or Parmesan Cheese
-Salt & Pepper to Taste
-Romaine Lettuce

Directions:
Cook and drain package of cheese tortellini, set aside. Cook and drain peas, set aside. In a small saucepan combine butter, milk, pesto and heat through until it is a thin consistency. Add more milk if needed. In a bowl combine cooked pesto, peas, chopped peppers, pine nuts, fresh mint and sauce. Coat all ingredients with sauce mixture. Chill pasta mixture and serve over a bed of chopped romaine lettuce.

We served this with a side of salmon and some fresh asparagus for dinner. This salad is refreshing and a nice twist on an ordinary pasta. I'm sure this would be delightful chilled or served warm.

M.I.A. . .Missing in Action!

Hi friends! I'm so sorry I've been so MIA lately. . . I have truly been Missing In Action! When I arrived home last night I realized that I've been on the road for at least 2-3 days for the last 5 weeks and next week will be no different! The great news is that I am more invigorated and challenged in my current role than ever before and the travel has been both exciting and productive.

Unfortunately, something usually has to go when I travel and often times its the blog!

.

So to my loyal friends and readers. . .
